Stuck on tty1 using livecd, startx does not

Stuck on tty1 using livecd, startx does not

I have a new laptop (lenovo g505), Im trying to run an ubuntu 13.04
livecd. I tried using ubuntu, xubuntu, debian, and kubuntu, however it is
still not working :(
I am getting this error message (in my xorg log file) :
...... (a lot of text earlier)

Fatal Server error:
no screens found
The laptop has a Radeon HD 8400 graphics card (1366 x 768 resolution)
I have already tried reconfiguring the xserver using: sudo
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg , however it did not work :(
If you know how to fix it, please help me.
